Psalm 122

Updated: Sep 8, 2020

"I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the LORD!'"

Gracious and most compassionate God, many believers can relate to this sentiment in a unique way in these days of the persisting pandemic. Some congregations are meeting in outdoor parks instead of inside their ordinary places of corporate worship. Some are gathering virtually, utilizing Facebook Live, Zoom, or radio broadcasts for their worship services. And some churches have resumed in-person worship, but have had families and individuals elect to worship from home.

O Lord, we long for the day to say: "Let us go to the house of the LORD!" We long to gather together with other believers for mutual encouragement and fellowship and to join together in worshipping you. We long for no more masks and no more pandemic. We long to shake hands and hug and sing loudly and have greeters and small groups. We pray for all things to be restored.

Grant us to be grateful for the ways we are able to connect at this time, grateful for the ways we've been able to connect in the past, and grateful for all the ways you will provide for us now and into the future. You are good, O Lord, and it is our joy to worship you. In Jesus' name, amen.
