“The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you. Sing praises to the LORD, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds!” (Psalm 9:9-11)
Lord, because of your faithfulness, we have come to trust you. You have not forsaken us, and you never will (Hebrews 13:5). May these truths encourage our hearts today, that in the times of trouble we are facing we will find refuge in you. We will find in you a peace which passes understanding (Philippians 4:7).
In the light of the peace you give us now, and in light of your faithful love we have enjoyed in days gone by, let us sing our praises to you, O Lord. For though our circumstances change, you never do. You are as good as always, as loving, as faithful, as true. Therefore, we worship you. And let us share with others what you have done for us, and what you have done for others, including the testimonies of the Scriptures, that they too might find refuge in you, and join our glad adoration of you, our most beloved God, who is ever faithful, ever true. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
